Walnut Coffee Table Build - With Storage
Building a Walnut Coffee Table
In this video, I am building a custom walnut coffee table for a client. The coffee table is made primarily from walnut and then also has ambrosia maple panels that came from a table the client had previously built.
The construction of this coffee table is frame and panel with walnut for the frames and ambrosia maple for the panels. The ambrosia maple panels were resawn from material that I was able to repurpose from a dining table the client had previously built from this material.
The coffee table consists of two main cabinets on the left and the right. These are joined together by another panel in the back and a support stretcher in the front. Then of course there is the solid walnut top that connects everything together.
The design was specific to the clients need to store an ottoman in the center of the coffee table. As she puts it “no feet on my coffee table!”.
